Prompting / playbook

Find the weak spot in how you use AI.

Review a few real conversations and turn the feedback into one focused practice exercise.

EXAMPLE REVIEW · ILLUSTRATIVE

A specific fix beats a vague score.

Observed gap
The request asks for a plan but gives no deadline or available time.
Why it matters
The assistant has to guess how much can fit.
Next attempt
Add your deadline, available hours, and one non-negotiable constraint.
How to check
Compare the revised plan against your real calendar.
An illustrative review note. Your assessment needs actual prompt-and-response samples; the assistant cannot inspect your account history.

Asking an assistant to rate your AI skills can produce a flattering number without much evidence. A better exercise is to show it your actual prompts, the answers you received, and what you were trying to accomplish. Then ask what you could change.

YOU’LL WALK AWAY WITH

An evidence-based review of your examples, with a before-and-after prompt to try.

An AI assistant · your own context and examples

01 / Bring three real attempts

Choose a successful conversation, one that needed several revisions, and one that disappointed you. For each, include your goal, prompt, relevant response, and your judgment of the result.

Remove private details you do not need for the review. Do not assume the assistant can inspect your full account history; supply the examples you want it to evaluate.

02 / Ask for evidence before a score

Useful feedback points to something you can change. “Your output format was unclear” should come with the relevant prompt excerpt and an explanation of the mismatch it caused.

This exercise rates the supplied samples. It is not a validated skills test or a measure of your overall ability. A failed answer can also reflect the model, its tools, or missing information.

03 / A concrete improvement

Example input: “Analyze these customer interviews.” A clearer revision is: “Group these interview excerpts into recurring problems. Quote a short supporting passage for each group, note exceptions, and separate customer statements from your interpretation.”

That revision makes the task and the evidence requirements easier to assess. It does not guarantee the analysis is correct; you still need to inspect the result.
